SKYBAUS
Born in the infamous ‘Pleasant Grove’, a community in southeast Dallas, Skybaus is a death metal band with a unique and crushing sound.
In spring of 2021, two childhood friends (Brandon/Cody) joined up with Richard and started the first iteration of Skybaus; a three-piece, instrumental project with a prog/death vibe. It didn’t take long before they started to entertain the idea of bringing in a vocalist.
Just after tracking and releasing the song “Plague of War” (feat. Stephen Oliver), the band decided to open up the position and in came Stryker. The band played their “first” show on October 31, 2021. It was a partial instrumental set that featured just two songs with the new vocalist.
With this new four-piece onslaught, Skybaus began to get attention from the local death scene and after just a few months, they were fortunate enough to play with a Facedown Records AND a Solid State Records band (Meadows/The Undertaking).
With an EP, a music video, and more new material on the way, this band looks forward with confidence and has a bright future.
“Blue-collar motherfuckers who don’t play games” is not only a lyric in the song ‘Grovestyle Groove’ – it’s their motto. A group of individuals with common goals: to write the heaviest music possible and call out the injustices in a world and scene that is divided, bringing a sense of community and family to everyone around them.
Be on the lookout for new music and a few other announcements in July 2022!
